Wushu, rooted in the ancient traditions of Chinese Kung Fu, traces its origins back thousands of years. The modern sport of Wushu, however, was officially established in the 1980s and is divided into two primary disciplines: Taolu, and Sanda.
Wushu is also known as Kungfu. Taiji is one of the disciplines of Wushu and quite popular among people of all ages. Last year it was added to UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Competitive Wushu is composed mainly of two major disciplines: Taolu and Sanda.
